A trip to Disney World in Kissimmee, Florida is often a dream vacation for many. Fortunately, for travelers with special needs, Disney offers an exceptional experience by providing accommodations through their Disability Access Service program.

This program allows guests to request accommodations tailored to their needs. A new feature allows guests to pre-register between 2-30 days prior to their visit. Through a video chat with a cast member, guests' needs are assessed, and they can obtain return times for up to 2 rides before their vacation begins.

For those who don't pre-register, accommodations can still be requested by checking in at guest services upon arrival at the theme park. Disney cast members inquire about limitations and restrictions due to disabilities, without requiring proof or specifics of the disability. The person requiring accommodations must be present for registration.

While DAS accommodations often allow guests to bypass standby lines, they must check in at each ride's designated location to receive a return time. Only one DAS return time can be held at a time, and the person with accommodations must be present to ride.

Disney also offers accommodations for developmental disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, food allergies, and provides wheelchair and electric convenience vehicle rentals. Guests may opt for wheelchair rentals from nearby private companies, often more cost-effective than Disney's daily rental.

Service animals are welcome with specific rules regarding their access to attractions, detailed on Disney's website. Disney transportation is wheelchair accessible, but securing wheelchairs on transportation can take time, potentially drawing attention in the bustling Disney environment.

For further information, Disney's website offers a comprehensive overview of available services, while specific inquiries can be directed to disability.services@disneyparks.com or (407) 560-2547.
